Kristian Salikoski is internationally recognized tango Dj from Helsinki, Finland
Pioneer in professional tango dj´ing in Finland, Kristian has been working since 2008. After 3 years of active playing for various milonga, festival and marathon organizers in his home country and abroad he opened his own milonga, Milonga Pacífico, that is one of the most important places for tango pilgrimage in Finland.
In 2010 he studied the art of tango dj´ing in Buenos Aires and played in various milongas, for example in Salón Canning.
With the years he has built up a fine collection of tango music and as Kristian himself says "everything that a Dj has to know is in the music... treat it with respect and pay attention to the dance floor"
Besides Dj´ing
On his thesis for the diploma of Master of Arts (2012) he focused on the experience of tango dancer basing his analysis on embodiment and gender and sexuality. He is fascinated about touch and continuously deepening his understanding of it, looking at it as an encounter and dialogue between people: tango and contact improvisation being important laboratories in his research.
Since 2011 he studies to become a teacher in the Alexander Technique in the Alexander Teacher Training School of Orivesi, Finland.
